Zumba, Zumba Gold

My friend Jennie and I recently went off on another Zumba training adventure. This time we went to a Zumba Gold training class. It was an all day training and so much fun. Zumba Gold is for people that are just beginning to exercise, have a disability or on a wheelchair. Let me tell you doing Zumba in a chair is just as fun as standing and doing it.

The instructor Madalene Aponte is high energy and a great instructor. This lady has all the moves down and is a little powerhouse. She teaches the best classes ever!
Now I have basic one and gold licenses to teach. Hmm wonder if I will ever get good enough and brave enough to teach.
Zumba Gold Instructor, now to find the time to practice, get really good . I will have to admit that this is a super fun form of exercise, and even if I don't teach it is one of my favorite things to do.

Jealousy

Jealousy, Wow! I know it is wrong to be jealous of other people and just because one person has something or gets to do something I don't, is no reason to be jealous. At times I feel it creeping in and I really try to pray about it and control those feelings. I know just because a person has this quality in their life does not mean they are not going through something in there own in life. I try to be grateful for all the good in my life, but sometimes, just sometimes I wish I had or could do something exciting. maybe my presumption of exciting is warped. I'm just not sure but I know I struggle with this, just saying.

Feeling A little Mental

I'm not even sure how to explain my feelings these days. I can't quite put my finger on what is going on with me, mid-life, pre- menopause dang I just don't know!
I don't feel very happy and it seems that nothing satisfies me. Not that I'm asking for fame and glory, but damn!
I am taking a summer class, I go back to work for the summer starting Tuesday, and I have numerous things to accomplish for my fall term, that needs to be taken care of now. I don't feel overwhelmed with all of this, and maybe the bored feeling I have will go away once all of this falls into action. I just don't know!
I find myself over eating and eating because I feel comfort in doing so, then I get sad because I weigh more now than I ever have in my entire life. I don't like my looks in pictures and oh no don't even set me in front of a mirror naked!
I wish my hubby would pay more attention to me, but he has his friends and they seem to be more important to him. He just goes and does his own thing and here I sit like right now, trying to put my feelings into words on my blog.......................blah!

I work really hard at doing my best in my college courses, and it seems that my hard work is paying off. I received this Honor Society Award today in the mail. Yes I am now a member of "Phi Theta Kappa" honor society. I'm so proud of myself :)

I finished one of my classes a week ago, 3 weeks early and ended it with an A. Lifespan Development was an awesome class on the web and the teacher was kind and put the whole terms worth of work up at the beginning. So I worked really hard last week and got that one off my back. Today I finished all the homework for my other class, Paraprofessional Counseling 2, now I have to go present a 8 page research paper on Cognitive behavioral therapy for Adult Asperger syndrome. After this I have 2 more weeks of school left then get a month break and go back for a summer class, "Group Facilitation". This will be a quick class of 1 day a week from 9 till 4 for 6 weeks =3 credits, whoa! After this class I will have 2 months off and back at it once again.
So for that nice month break I have ordered a few books to read while waiting for my next adventure.
Wednesday I shall start reading "I am your disease The many faces of addiction". I have a feeling this may bring tears!

It has been a long 4 months, I can't believe that I have not blogged for that long. Not only that I missed my own Blogoversary....silly me!
I have been busy with school, and this term has 3 weeks left, then I get a month off and will do a summer class.
I have had some personal issues going on and nothing that I can share at this point.

Zumba

Ever been to a Zumba class at a gym or local facility? My friend Jennie and I started going to Zumba classes at the local gym and quickly fell in love. It is like a dance party every time. So there was a certification class coming up and we decided to go. It was tons of fun and a intense 8 hours. The picture above is us half way through the training class.

The training teacher was high energy and such a cool lady. She taught us all the moves and instruction. Very neat lady!
This is me with Madalene Aponte the Zumba instructor right after I received my instructor certificate. I am in no way good enough to teach a class of my own, but I now have a better understanding of the moves how Zumba came to be, and had a great experience of a lifetime.

A Mixed Bag Month

Wow! Crazy that I have not blogged for almost a month now. A lot has gone on in that month, I almost don't know where to begin.

Let me start with the happy news:

I finished off my term with a 4.0, yes I passed both my classes with an A. I'm stoked as I worked very hard to get those A's. Now I have a month off.YIPPY! Next term I have paraprofessional counseling 2, Life span and development and art appreciation.

My friend Jennie and I went to Anchorage and became certified Zuma instructors, it was a 8 hour day of training and loads of fun! I have to practice up and get a whole lot better before I would take on a teaching position but wow, that was FUN!

Not so good news:

My cars transmission blew up and has been at the shop for a month now, awaiting a new tranny to be shipped up here so they can fix it. Two days after my car died, my Husbands truck died beyond repair, so we have this hunk of junk 85 subaru that barely runs, some days it runs right and other days it will hardly go.

Christmas is tight, more tight than it has been for, well, I'd say 23 years. I keep telling myself this to shall pass.

Weather news:

It has been cold and dark, and I mean cold and dark........for the last couple days we have not seen above zero at all. Sunrise is at 10 am and sunset is at 3:45 pm. This is not so good for me with limited travel and being stuck at home. I look forward to the daylight slowly creeping back up, getting my car back and well warmer weather which warmer weather will be a long wait.

Oh So Not Good!!!

Last week was a very difficult week at the old home front. It all started last Monday, I was driving along singing to the radio and my car made some funny noise. I pulled over checked it all out and it looked ok. I called Hubby and told him of the noise and he said"maybe it was just ice falling off the car" so I continued my journey. Well by the time I got home it sounded terrible. So Tuesday off to the shop it went only for them to tell me that my transmission had a hole in it and it is fried. Then Tuesday afternoon my husband thought his truck looked a little funny in the driveway and he went to investigate it. Well the rear end axle is rusted and folded over, so now his truck is toast and can never be driven again. Oh yeah and Tuesday Morning I was in my sons room looking for his math book for him, and I tripped over the cord to my laptop and slammed it to the floor, broken! Wednesday my Hubby tripped over his own feet and knocked my beautiful mirror off the wall. Broken. We have a car that needed a little work that we bought for my son, for when he gets his license in May, it was on the side of the house with a snow plow berm in front of it, Hubby dug it out and has been working on it so we have a car to drive. I have a friend who let me borrow her excursion, although a total gas hog I was very grateful..........well the 4 wheel drive went out on it...........It doesn't have studs and it is very scary to drive now, it wants to go sideways and let me tell you an 8000 pound vehicle that does not belong to me that wants to be sideways is NOFUN! So I have it parked in my driveway. I will call Monday and see if they have found a transmission for my car and see how much it will cost..........where that money will come from who knows.

On the bright side of things I have my homework done and the term is winding down, just 3 more weeks and I get a lovely, well deserved Month vacation.

Last week, winter came about our little town and dumped a total of 2 feet of snow upon us. This was the first day, I captured a few pictures. Above is what the hwy looked like on our trip to the store. Glad the plows were out.
Went to bed with no snow and woke up in the morning to 9 inches. Must have been a pretty sight but slept right through that,
Everything was getting nice a covered , very pretty.
Had to call in the plow man to get our driveway, I could not get my car out with out his help.

Last week I started my English class. It is a block class and only lasts 8 weeks. It is English Literature and my mind is not wrapping around the readings. I get so confused with the readings and how to make sense of it all. I pray that I can make it through the next 8 weeks and pass this class! I'm kickin and screanin all the way!

A Little of This and Some of That

I can't believe it has been almost 2 weeks since I have blogged. So much has been going on I can't seem to keep up.

School has been keeping me busy, and my classes are going good. I seem to have my face stuck in a book quite a bit these days..........I'm always hoping for a read for fun as I call it, but it always seems to be text books that my face is stuck in. I guess if college degrees were easy everyone would have one.......haha

The weather around here has taken a turn for fall, and quickly looking like winter is on its way. Almost all the leaves are gone, it's been in the low 20's at night a few times and the sky looked like snow yesterday, but held off.

I have a friend who is headed to Iraq on Tuesday, and I'm not really liking this, but what can you do other than pray for a safe return. So if you would please keep him in your prayers too.

I have had major fun with canning foods this year so far. I have done, spicy black beans, spicy pinto beans, smoked salmon, salmon, peaches, beets and my new endeavor is making apple butter and canning that.

Oh and I bought a gym membership and I have been going to the gym. I go to zumba a couple times a week, and step on Fridays and the rest of the time you can find me hoofing it on the treadmill and doing other workouts on the equipment. I have been doing this for 2 weeks now and dropped 1 pound.......UGH one 1 pound! What gives!

Mix It Up

For many years I have wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer. I have asked for one for my birthday and Christmas but it has never showed up until a few days ago. My wonderful Husband sprang and purchased me one. Ohhhh so happy am I.

I couldn't help but hug my new piece of kitchen equipment.( sorry I don't look so hot here, just came home from the gym) I love to cook, and this is just the thing to add to my collection of kitchen goodies! Now looking online I have found a bunch of attachments that I seriously think I need, So those go on the list next.
Today I made homemade from scratch brownies, using my mixer to mix them up. Talk about yummy! Tomorrow I will have to hit the gym really hard to work off those 3 brownies I ate tonight.

On, Off, On Again

This past week I have been sick then fine and then sick again. It's the strangest thing. I feel like I'm getting a cold one hour and the next not. Then nauseated and not. Sure wish my body would make up it's mind to be well and stop jerking me around! I know a lot of other people that are feeling the same way, I know we are not passing it back and forth because we all live in different states.

Currently I have a stuffy/runny nose, heavy chest, and feel nauseated. So I'm on garlic, ginger, cayenne, and oregano pills and nauzene.

Any of you have the same symptoms going on?

Wowzers It's been a long time

Man I can't believe it's been 2 months since I have blogged. Time flies when you are busy doing what who knows.....LOL
Well lets see if I can cap the last couple months.

All of July I worked waitressing in town and made pretty good money. I fished as much as I possibly could and we canned salmon, smoked salmon and canned that too.
August I worked most of the month, went to the big city and shopped 3 times. Man that is a record for mall shopping for me....haha It was also my birthday and my son and hubby bought me a new camera. Have yet to use it much yet. Oh and back to school I went, this time taking paraprofessional counseling and English Lit.
September so far and been an interesting month, I have a huge case of the lazys, and it is all I can do to get that homework done. Not sure what is wrong really just that I want to sit in my chair and do nothing. Yesterday I went and got my hair colored and it is a deep dark red, something that I have never had my hair look like before. I LOVE IT!
October is a new month and I do have plans on going back to the gym, not digging they L' bod these days and have to go something about it, and it wont happen in my chair.......haha Oh and I hope to get back into some form of blogging routine.

On The Bank Of The Kenai

My Husband and I took advantage of my day off and headed down to the river for some salmon fishing.
The day and the river was so beautiful and we were in high spirits of catching us some salmon.
Both of us love to fish and spend time on the bank trying our best to hook them up.
The sun on the river was beautiful and really caught my eye, good thing I had my camera.
Well we didn't catch this time but we had a great day of hanging out together and really enjoyed each others company.

Party Like A Rockstar

Yesterday was Granny's 87th birthday Party, a few years back we had a party for her and she loved it so much that was her request is to have one every year, until she "kicks the bucket" her words.....LOL The picture up top is all the family who could make it to the party, there are tons more family members but they had prior engagements and could not make it. It turned out to be a beautiful day outside and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Grandma, is such a wonderful lady and very dear to my heart, she is wonder woman in my eyes and heart.
Grandma and my Daughter Rachel and Rachel's Daughter Ashlee.
This is cousin and great Friend Jennie and Me and Super Woman and best Math teacher ever Angela. Yes Angela was our math teacher in college, that is how we all met, and is a great friend of the family too.

It was a perfect day, weather cooperated, and I think it was the warmest day yet this summer. Perfect for Grandma to shine on her special day. Everyone made their special dish of food, and we all ate, laughed and had a great time. Grandma, partied like the star she is!

1. Where has June gone? I can believe that July is just around the corner.

2. Why do friends act a weird when you ask them a dozen questions about life and then get mad because you don't share with them everything they want to know, when no questions were asked? I don't get it.

3.Why oh why does it have to rain so much? I need sunshine on my days off at least!

4.Groceries, wow the cost of them, I should make my whole family go on a diet! Crazy! Went for a big shop today and 400 bucks later came home. What a cycle, push a cart, put stuff in, take it out and put on a belt to be rang up and bagged, back in the cart, out of cart in the trunk, out of trunk in the house, unbagged and put away.

5.I still have yet to watch the movie I have been want to watch" The Memory Keepers Daughter", maybe tomorrow on my last day off.

6. Works been busy, and my body hurts, glad for 2 days off.

7. What is one fond memory you have from a summer as a child?

I Got That Broken Feeling

Yes, Yes my Body has that broken feeling this morning, well and did last night too. I work in a restuarant in town serving food. The last couple days have been slow and easy, until yesterday people came crawling out of the woodwork it seems. I ran the full length of that busy restuarant for a full 2 and a half hours, at the beginning of my shift. The restaurant is pretty spread out and is capable of seating 90. I was the only waitress on duty and lets just say I had to put myself on speed woman mode and rock out some food and service. I managed to keep everyone happy and fed, and make $100 in tips during that time. Then the next 2 hours of my shift I had 1 table and made another 3 bucks. But oh boy did I have one heck of a mess to clean and stock for the next waitress coming in.
I though some good sleep and relaxing would fix this broken feeling, but nope no such luck and I will be back at it again today 12-4:30.

I live in a tourist town and the summers are large here. I guess I will get my chance to repair come September when they all go home........LOL

1. I was going to take the summer off from working, but life had other plans for me and I'm back to work and my hours were just increased. I hope my body can hold out running around that restaurant serving food.

2. I have decided I really need to loose a few pounds and have been working hard on losing them and not finding them again. So far I'm lost a few with many more to go.

3. Ya know a salad with chicken on it for diner is really a great meal.

4. I wanted to go back to Portland in August and the funds are just not there, so we are planning a trip to the State fair. That's about 200 miles or so from home(one way) so we will get a hotel and stay up there and go to the fair 2 days in a row and come home.

5. I have 2 more months of summer vacation and then it will be back to school, this next term will be Paraprofessional Counseling, and English 211, my last English class.

6. I think I will try and work and go to school, which I have never done before. I wonder if I can pull both of them off and still get A's.

7. I just read a good book called "The Memory Keepers Daughter" and found out there is also a movie on the book, so I hope to watch it today before returning back to work tomorrow.

A Wonderful Day At The Beach

We had a wonderful day at the beach in Homer last week on Tuesday. My daughter and I took the girls down there for a day of beach combing and shopping. It was a little windy but we had a wonderful day.

Lora was skipping rocks in the water and this excited the girl to no end.
Emily spotted this boat and she sreams"Looks that Boat is speeding, he needs a ticket" We laughed at that because she was so serious, out of the mouth of Babes.
I love Homer, Ocean water and Mountains all in one. It's like a 2 for 1 deal.
It was an awesome day and we took the kids all up and down the beach, breathing in the fresh air and the beauty of the day.
I hope to make it back down there soon for another relaxing day.

Some Conculsions and a Road Trip

I have had some personal things going on in my life the last couple months, and it has made me have a full range of emotions flowing through my head and body. I think I have finally got those things under control and I'm letting go, and becoming aware of life is not all it is cracked up to be. So instead of cracking up, I'm living for today each day. No more past, no more future, I will look at the day each and everyday and nothing else. Prayers do work, yes they do!

Now on to my road trip. Today my daughter Lora and Grandkids Gwen and Emily are taking a road trip to Homer, for the day. Homer is an awesome coastal town 90 miles from here, and it's a beautiful day to make a trip. We are going to walk on the beach......play....look for shells. Shop in the shops and just enjoy ourselves. I need a day out and some time out, and this is perfect. I bought batteries for my camera so you know I will have pictures to share soon.

I struggle with my eating habits all the time. I do good for awhile when I want to loose weight and then something (stress) comes along and bam I over eat once again. I can say that I'm addicted to chocolate and I'm not real proud of it. Sometimes I kick myself for not doing better with my eating habits and I have learned that it only makes it worse, so I try hard not to put myself down for this. I don't like the way I look and feel, and some days I want to cry at the way I look in the mirror, other days it's a look of who cares and I am what I am. Do any of you ever have this problem? Do you ever feel the way I do? I'm sure I'm not alone, but there are days I feel like it.
Why does loosing some weight and keeping it off have to be so hard?
Some people say it's easy to control and just exercise and eat less, well I don't think they live in my head. I'm not trying to make an excuse, but dang!
Just another confusing thought pattern going on in my head.

This Week Wrap Up

Monday through Wednesday I had off from working and those days I did some serious house cleaning and yard cleaning. I meant to have what I call a down day but life got in the way of that.

I waited for a email from a long distance friend, clue never wait for emails! LOL

Yesterday was back to work and it was not very busy but steady, I like being back to work, it gives me something to do besides ponder on life.

Last night I got the total clue on blogging, yes the world sees what I write and takes it for face value, so be honest and open or just don't write about things you don't want people to see.(Thank-you Lacey)

Today is a new day, and a work day, I'm hoping for a slamming busy weekend, so I make the big bucks!

First off My Husband and I are working on our relationship, and I'm hoping to mend our current issues. Thank you everyone for your kind words and prayers.

Yesterday we worked on our house, deep cleaning and hanging new mini blinds. That was a chore and it's looking very nice.

I can't believe it is Tuesday already, seems days off from work go way faster than days working.

Wow June 1st already, where does time go, we are close to half way with 2010. WOW!

Tonight I have a massage therapist(friend) coming to my house to give me a well needed massage. This will be a great relief to my worn-out, stressed-out body.

I'm thinking I need a road trip in my near future. Maybe next week on my days off I will go to Homer, which is 90 miles from home and enjoy the beach and some shopping.

Our summer has hit nicely and our day light hours are over 18 hours of light now, so it never gets totally dark. I love this time of year!

Hmmm my Daughter's man is home this week, maybe he will take us out on the boat to catch some salmon. Now there is a thought!

Back At It

A couple weeks ago my Friend and I went out for lunch. We went to the restaurant that I have worked in off and on for years. We nicely get sat down for a chat session and a burger and Linda(the waitress) asks me if I want to come back to work, they need a waitress and summer months are coming along with the tourists. I told her to let me think about it and I would get back to them. Well it took me until the next day to call and tell them yes I would come back to work. So now 4 days a week I go off and serve food and make some money. I love to waitress because I love to serve food but most of all I love the tips that fill my pocketbook daily. I just might try and keep this job and go to school, I usually just go to school and don't work, but hey maybe it's time for a change and challenge.

Not So Good May

May has not been a good month for me. I have had many unhappy moments that have turned into days of unhappiness. I have thought and thought on how to write this blog post, and what to share and not share, but the more I have thought about this and prayed about this, God has really placed on my heart to be open and honest about it all. So here goes:

I have been unhappy in my marriage for a few months now, and finally brought it to my Husbands attention. He spends more time with his friends, and bottles of beer than he does at home with me. Actually this action has been going on, off and on for years. We talk, it changes and then goes back to the same, so here we are again talking about my feelings about this. Well he blew up and said some mean things this time, such as "I'm Done" "I will do what the F... I want", "I'm sick of you looking down your Nose at me for the last 20 years.............etc. So I packed a small bag and headed out the door to my daughter's house to cry in peace and wonder where my life is going to take me. He called my cell many times and I would not answer. Finally the next morning he called and asked me to come home and talk. I told him exactly how I feel and felt about that he said to me. So now we are working on this issue in our lives and I hope it can be mended or I will have to move to a place and start my life over again, and this is something I really don't want to do, but will, because I will not live unhappy with a drunk the rest of my life.

I blog about this, because it is my life and my feelings, not for sympathy or a poor you. Now maybe I can get on with some other blog posts with out getting" The blog post blank stares".......LOL

Ok so you know from my previous post that my friend was so kind to buy me a coach wallet. Well I started looking online at the coach purses and well I had to have a purse to go with my wallet. Yup I ordered me a coach purse, oh my oh my is it ever pretty and nice. I have never had anything so nice in my life. Now to explain to my dear hubby when the bill comes..........Yikes!
Hopefully I will not need to find a new home when he sees that bill.................Just kidding.......I hope..................LOL

My friend got to go on a lovely vacation to Vegas a couple weeks ago. She had so much fun doing everything a person could dream of. Horseback riding, visiting the Hoover dam ect. She also got to do some major shopping and remembered me along her journey through those big malls.
She brought me back this cool Coach wallet, WOW I have never had anything coach before, I have only looked online and dreamed of being so lucky..........Ha
So now having this coach wallet has brought me back to looking online at the coach goodies and............ well......................

New Life

My BFF Sugamama has become a Grandma. Yep her daughter had her first baby. He was 5 weeks early(April 13th) and both Mom and Baby are doing awesome. He is such a beautiful Baby, Elijah weighed 5 pounds 9 ounces and is 17 inches long. He is just an idy bidy. I'm so excited because I get to be in his life too, and a fill in Grandma. I love this family so much and I'm glad to be a part of it and to share their joys.

Yes why yes I see light at the end of the tunnel. This term at school has really proven to be a tough one and now I'm nearing the end. Yep today and Thursday is it for me. I have waded through essay after essay and assignment after assignment and managed to get myself a 4.0 grade point average, yep that Means A's. I'm so proud of myself and all that hard work has paid off. I will have more time to blog and read others blogs and man let me tell you I have missed you all. I have stuff I want to share pictures I want you to see and soon, very soon I will be able to share with you.

Yep you got it, it's me I'm back! I have had a ton of personal issues the last couple weeks and it has not left a good taste in my mouth so to speak. I think we are working out these issues and I'm getting back on track. I have missed all of you, but I was taught when you have nothing good to say don't speak at all, so with that being said I remained silent.
I have 6 weeks of school left and a ton of research papers to write. I am currently working on a 5 page paper for Human services, and then will start my 7 page paper for English.
So my work load is going wild but I can do this. I currently have an A in Human Services and a high B in English and trying to make that an A.

This may not be something that inspires me, but it certainly is something that brightened my day, and I'm certain you wont soon forget it!! I Got this from another blogger who got it from someone else- Author unknown...

- All hair removal methods have tricked women with their promises of easy, painless removal - The Epilady, scissors, razors, Nair and now…the wax. Read on…… My night began as any other normal weeknight. Come home, fix dinner, play with the kids. I then had the thought that would ring painfully in my mind for the next few hours: 'Maybe should pull the waxing kit out of the medicine cabinet.' So I headed to the site of my demise: the bathroom. It was one of those 'cold wax' kits. No melting a clump of hot wax, you just rub the strips together in your hand, they get warm and you peel them apart and press them to your leg (or wherever else) and you pull the hair right off. No muss, no fuss. How hard can it be? I mean, I'm not a genius, but I am mechanically inclined enough to figure this out. (YA THINK!?!) So I pull one of the thin strips out. Its two strips facing each other stuck together. Instead of rubbing them together, my genius kicks in so I get out the hair dryer and heat it to 1000 degrees. ('Cold wax,' yeah…right!) I lay the strip across my thigh. Hold the skin around it tight and pull. It works! OK, so it wasn't the best feeling, but it wasn't too bad. I can do this! Hair removal no longer eludes me! I am She-rah, fighter of all wayward body hair and maker of smooth skin extraordinaire. With my next wax strip I move north. After checking on the kids, I sneak back into the bathroom, for the ultimate hair fighting championship. I drop my panties and place one foot on the toilet. Using the same procedure, I apply the wax strip across the right side of my bikini line, covering the right half of my hoo-ha and stretching down to the inside of my butt cheek (it was a long strip) I inhale deeply and brace myself….RRRRRRIIIIPPP!!!! I'm blind!!! Blinded from pain!!!!…. OH MY GAUD!!!!!!!!! Vision returning, I notice that I've only managed to pull off half the strip. CRAP! Another deep breath and RIPP! Everything is spinning and spotted. I think I may pass out…must stay conscious…must stay conscious. Do I hear crashing drums??? Breathe, breathe………… OK, back to normal. I want to see my trophy - a wax-covered strip, the one that has caused me so much pain, with my hairy pelt sticking to it. I want to revel in the glory that is my triumph over body hair. I hold up the strip! There's NO hair on it. Where is the hair??? WHERE IS THE WAX??? Slowly I ease my head down, foot still perched on the toilet. I see the hair. The hair that should be on the strip…it's not! I touch. I am touching wax. I run my fingers over the most sensitive part of my body, which is now covered in cold wax and matted hair. Then I make the next BIG mistake…remember my foot is still propped upon the toilet? I know I need to do something So I put my foot down. Sealed shut! My butt is sealed shut. Sealed shut! I penguin walk around the bathroom trying to figure out what to do and think to myself 'Please don't let me get the urge to poop. My head may pop off!' What can I do to melt the wax? Hot water!! Hot water melts wax!! I'll run the hottest water I can stand into the bathtub, get in, immerse the wax-covered bits and the wax should melt and I can gently wipe it off, right??? *WRONG!!!!!!!* > > I get in the tub - The water is slightly hotter than that used to torture prisoners of war or sterilize surgical equipment - I sit. Now, the only thing worse than having your nether regions glued together, is having them glued together and then glued to the bottom of the tub…in scalding hot water. Which, by the way, doesn't melt cold wax. So, now I'm stuck to the bottom of the tub as though I had cemented myself to the porcelain!! God bless the man who had convinced me a few months ago to have a phone put in the bathroom!!!!! I call my friend, thinking surely she has waxed before and has some >secret of how to get me undone. It's a very good conversation starter 'So, my butt and hoo-ha are glued together to the bottom of the tub!' There is a slight pause. She doesn't know any secret tricks for removal but she does try to hide her laughter from me. She wants to know exactly where the wax is located, 'Are we talking cheeks or hole or hoo-ha?' She's laughing out loud by now…I can hear her. I give her the rundown and she suggests I call the number on the side of the box. YEAH!!!!! Right!! I should be the joke of someone else's night. While we go through various solutions. I resort to trying to scrape the wax off with a razor . Nothing feels better than to have your girlie goodies covered in hot wax, glued shut, stuck to the tub in super hot water and then dry-shaving the sticky wax off!! By now the brain is not working, dignity has taken a major hike and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need Post-Traumatic Stress counseling for this event. My friend is still talking with me when I finally see my saving grace….the lotion they give you to remove the excess wax. What do I really have to lose at this point? I rub some on and OH MY STARS!!!!!!! The scream probably woke the kids and scared the dickens out of my friend. It's sooo painful, but I really don't care. 'IT WORKS!! > > It works !!' I get a hearty congratulation from my friend and she hangs up. I successfully remove the remainder of the wax and then notice to my grief and despair…. THE HAIR IS STILL THERE……..ALL OF IT! So I recklessly shave it off. Heck, I'm numb by now. Nothing hurts. I could have amputated my own leg at this point. Next week I'm going to try hair color…… I told ya ~ You are wel come!!

It seems that I don't have a ton of blogging time these days. I try to get around to everyone's blogs and look and maybe leave them a little note along the way. School started back up for me and it seems to take a lot of my time, along with family.
I have English and Intro. to Human services this term and both classes demand a lot of homework. It seems by the time I get done pecking out assignments, I loose interest in the computer.Ha!
I can't believe that this week marks week 5 of my studies and it seems to be flying by with a blur!
The family is doing good, hubby is working away and Chad is doing good in school too. Chad is really enjoying his first job as a courtesy clerk(cart pusher) at our local Fred Meyer. He works a night or two after school and on the weekends. He wants to save money for a car, although his first check he bought his girlfriend a pretty lil ring. He really has a heart of gold, and I try hard to teach him the values of treating a lady right.
My Brother in law that needs a kidney transplant fell a couple weeks ago and broke his shoulder in a couple places, so I have been trying to make sure he has meals and a clean house. Thankfully my other sister in law has been helping with this also. So between the two of us he has been taken care of nicely.
We got another 4 inches of snow the other day, and I can say that I'm DONE with WINTER! Although winter is not done with us yet. Our days are getting longer now and I love the extra light.

This is Fern and I in 1995. She was our neighbor when I was a little girl(about 5). She was like a second mom to me. My Mom was a single Mom and Fern use to have me over and we would bake cookies and make all kinds of goodies together.
Well in 1995 when I went back to Iowa for a visit I looked Fern up and went to visit her. It was a great visit and we talked about the things we remembered from way back when. She also gave me some cookie cutters that we use to use all those years ago.
I kept in touch with Fern after that until she passed March 1999.
A very beautiful woman and I'm thankful for her still.

I have been home from vacation now for almost a month. So much has happened since I have been home, I'm looking for a dull moment but doubt that will be happening.
The first week I was back I did some deep cleaning of the house and rearranging, that felt good to go on a get rid of it spree. My house is small and it needed that to look somewhat organized once again.
My son Chad applied for a job at our local store (Fred Meyer) and a week later he was hired and working part time after school and on the weekends pushing carts and helping customers. He is very excited to be working, although he is trying to learn balance between, school, friends, girlfriend and work. He finds this is not an easy task. Yesterday was his first paycheck and he came home from work with a beautiful little ring for his girlfriend. He is so kind hearted and excited to give it to her. Today he works and then after work they are going to the movie.
I am back to my college classes and I think my English class is going to give me a run for my money. Well so is my human services class too, but in a different way. I go off to the college for my English class and my HS class is e-live and I can sit in my PJs and have class right here at home. So most weekends I sit and do homework, and everything else the house may need around here.
Today I have one of my Granddaughters over night while herMom has a break. Also we are going over to my friends house for dinner, yes I get to go spend time with Sugamama and her crew. I'm looking forward to the welcomed break, but that will mean step it up on homewrok Sunday and Monday before my new week of school and more Homework.
What I really want to do is brave the cold and spend some time on a frozen lake and ice fish. Become one with the ice and a little hole and snap out some fresh fish for dinner. Not seeing that in my forecast just yet. I guess a girl can dream though! Maybe next weekend if the homework is lean and the timing is just right.

This is back in 1995, when I took a trip back to Iowa to see my family. I left Iowa when I was 11 and moved to Oregon. This is my all time favorite Uncle Bill and I. I have fond memories of Uncle Bill. I spent a lot of time at my Aunt and Uncles When I was little. He taught me how to spit, shift a truck and whistle. Going back to see family after all those years was so much fun! I quickly reminded Uncle Bill of all the fond memories I had of these things,all he could do is laugh and hold on tight to those memories too.

This is my oldest daughter Vera and her family. Hubby John, little guy Logan and little girl Willow. They live in Washington State so when I was on my vacation I got to see them and meet my Grand babies for the first time.
Little Willow(6 months) is such a happy baby and it was so much fun to play with her and tell her about me and her Grandpa. She smells so yummy and clean all the time!
This is Logan and he just turned 2 on Nov 5th. he is such a smart little guy. He talks up a storm and I can understand everything he says. He would tell me I Love you Grandma and give me the biggest hugs.

I miss them in a huge way and wish we lived closer so I could cuddle them all the time!

My Mom just called me and my Grandma Freeman was admitted into the hospital. She has total confusion and is down to 85 pounds now. They are feeding in intravenously and are trying to find out what is wrong with her.

Whining Wednesday

Most of you know my computer broke Monday, well it was fine in the morning and later in the evening I had no use of my mouse or keyboard. Nothing worked to fix it. So I started stressing out because one of my college classes is on the computer, it's called and e-live class.Soooooo out came my son's laptop to try and configure my class on his computer, a hour or so later walaaa, ready for class on Tuesday evening.

Yesterday was my first set of classes for this term. So before going to school I took my computer to the doctor, they say they are busy and it will probably be 5 days to fix it. Our I could pay 70 extra and they could expedite it. Well no I don't have an extra 70 on top of what it will be to fix it so call me when it's done.
My day was crazy busy it goes like this
Up at 5
Computer doctor
school
lunch with daughter
check in on transportation for rides home for son
pick Chad up from school
take him to orientation for his new job
Home for an hour and a half
back to pick him up
e-live class for and hour and a half
dinner(ate late8:30)
Then checked to see if my gift certificate went to Darcie and for some crazy reason it came in my email as my gift. So now I will have to find out what I did wrong, I will just call them today so I don't get it wrong again!
So today will be filled with home work. There are a few things that I really don't like about laptops, but I'm thankful for the use of this one until I get mine back. I don't have any pictures on this one and I pray they can fix mine without wiping it all out.

My friend Patty opened up her home to Chad and I to stay while we were in Portland. She has beautiful home and a extra bedroom for us to make our home. We have been good friends for 13 years now and she is very dear to me. She has helped me thought some tough times emotionally and spiritually. It has been 8 years since we have seen each other until our trip, and it was amazing to see her again and spend time together.

We really had some late night talks and bonded once again. To tell you the truth it has been a little hard on me since I have been home, not to have her close by, to share close talks over a cup of coffee or dinner together. The phone is just not the same!
Patty just loves my Chad-man and he loves her too. They bonded again also. When he was younger we use to get together all the time. I would pick him up from daycare and he would ask what's Patty having for dinner? I wanna go there. So when he asked her what's for dinner when we were there I could see that smile on her face remembering old times.

Thank you Miss Patty for opening your home to us and Loving me unconditionally for years. I miss you like crazy!

My Mom's BFF Peg had a gathering at her house for Christmas eve. She was one very excited Mama, all of her kids made it home for Christmas this year too. We made snacks and headed over to spread some holiday cheer. She has 4 adult kids and I have only met one until this party. She has a beautiful family and I felt very lucky to share a part of Christmas with them.

This is Peg and I Christmas eve. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention she makes the BEST Lemon cake in the world. I got one of my very own especially made for me.

Friend and Birth Coach

This is my friend Tamara, we met when our kids were in first grade. We went on a field trip and were paired up with a group of kids. We hit it off really well and found out we attended the same church, this was back in 1989. She has triplets 2 girls and a boy. She had to have an emergency C-section with her babies and really wanted to witness the birth of a baby so I asked her to be my birthing coach when I was pregnant with Chad.
She was a really good coach and helped me birth Chad. She has not seen Chad other than pictures since we was 6(now 16). She was really surprised to see how much he has grown and what a fine young man he has turned out to be.
I was really Blessed that we got to spend some time together while we were on our vacation.

After All These Years

I found a couple high school friends a year or so ago on Facebook and Myspace we keep in touch that way. I let them know I was going to be in Portland for the holidays and we should get together for dinner while I was there. Debbie the one next to me in the picture lives in Washington State now but only 30 minutes away from Portland, and Susan lives not far away from where we grew up. Debbie I have not seen for 24 years and Susan for 30 years. So Debbie came down and got me and off to my favorite Italian restaurant we went to meet up with Susan. We had a wonderful dinner and did some catching up. Hard to fit so many years in a couple of hours, but I feel so blessed to have that time with my friends.

Two Bloggers Meet

While on my Vacation I knew I was fairly close to a great gal I met in blog land. We talked and made arrangements to meet while I was in Portland. Her travel to meet me was about two and a half hours away from where I was staying, and I was very Blessed that she could make the trip. Since I live in Alaska it is very hard to ever meet some one you become close with, because I live so out of the loop of the lower 48.

This is Alexis from Running away I'll help you pack and I. She is such a great lady and fun to sit and drink coffee with. She has a great personality, and she shines with happiness. I felt like I have known her for years, and now when I read her blog I know just what a blessing she really is and how her daily life goes.

Thank you for making that drive Alexis and giving me the chance to meet you and your family. I hope that one day soon we will be able to meet up again. I truly feel Blessed by your friendship.

I am finally home from my two week vacation. I had a wonderful time and it was hard to leave but glad to be home(if that makes sense). I have tons of stories to tell and pictures to share. I will try and get all my pictures on my computer and start with the joys of my 2 weeks in Portland as soon as I can get caught up with my home life. So stay tuned for some great times.
