Friday Flashback Photo

This is Fern and I in 1995. She was our neighbor when I was a little girl(about 5). She was like a second mom to me. My Mom was a single Mom and Fern use to have me over and we would bake cookies and make all kinds of goodies together.
Well in 1995 when I went back to Iowa for a visit I looked Fern up and went to visit her. It was a great visit and we talked about the things we remembered from way back when. She also gave me some cookie cutters that we use to use all those years ago.
I kept in touch with Fern after that until she passed March 1999.
A very beautiful woman and I'm thankful for her still.

I am participating in a year long challenge with Carin. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. This is my Mother in law and I, while I was in Portland on vacation. She has not always been fond of me and finally about a year ago something broke in our friendship and it has been a wonderful thing for me. I guess it just took 20 years for approval.
