This is Fern and I in 1995. She was our neighbor when I was a little girl(about 5). She was like a second mom to me. My Mom was a single Mom and Fern use to have me over and we would bake cookies and make all kinds of goodies together.Well in 1995 when I went back to Iowa for a visit I looked Fern up and went to visit her. It was a great visit and we talked about the things we remembered from way back when. She also gave me some cookie cutters that we use to use all those years ago.
I kept in touch with Fern after that until she passed March 1999.
A very beautiful woman and I'm thankful for her still.

Oh, Robyn..how wonderful that you got to see her again in 1995!! I can imagine all the goodies you baked with her, and I'm sure she enjoyed your company. I bet you miss her!
We are so blessed by all the "moms" in our life's, huh. I am certain Fern felt the love you had for her, and how special to have those cookie cutters now.
Makes me wonder what young kids I could reach out to as well. Thanks so much for sharing Robyn and have a beautiful weekend!

I remember special neighbors who really invested in the lives of me and my siblings when my parents divorced. What a blessing they were to my life. Nice that you got to visit her again.
