While on my Vacation I knew I was fairly close to a great gal I met in blog land. We talked and made arrangements to meet while I was in Portland. Her travel to meet me was about two and a half hours away from where I was staying, and I was very Blessed that she could make the trip. Since I live in Alaska it is very hard to ever meet some one you become close with, because I live so out of the loop of the lower 48.
This is Alexis from Running away I'll help you pack and I. She is such a great lady and fun to sit and drink coffee with. She has a great personality, and she shines with happiness. I felt like I have known her for years, and now when I read her blog I know just what a blessing she really is and how her daily life goes.

I will try and get all my pictures on my computer and start with the joys of my 2 weeks in Portland as soon as I can get caught up with my home life. So stay tuned for some great times.

Starbucks Giveaway
I just love a good cup of coffee, and Starbucks in one of my all time favorite places to get a good latte. It just happens to be inside the store I grocery shop in, so every time I run to the store I end up with a good cup of coffee.
Well with me leaving in 5 days and won't be around blog land much for the holidays I would like to give one luck reader a 20.00 gift card so they can have coffee during the holidays with out having to spend their shopping money on a nice coffee or tea.

I'm Alive Really I Am
Wow looking at my blog this morning and doing a date check I realize that I haven't posted in a week.
I have been so busy with school, family and the fundraiser that I haven't had time to do anything else really.
Last week I made it through school and homework.
Finished up my fundraising goodies.
Wednesday I made desserts for Thanksgiving and went out and collected the goodies that people so graciously helped make for the bazaar.
Thanksgiving I cooked all day and had 17 people over for dinner. We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed each others company. What a beautiful day!
Friday Morning I got up early packed the car, went and picked up Sugamama and off to the bazaar to set up for our first day of sales. It went wonderful and after being gone from home for 12 hours I came home and relaxed a bit and fell into bed.
Saturday morning we headed back to the bazaar for another day of sales. It went good also, but it wasn't as busy as the first day. But I can proudly say that we raised 500.00 for my Brother in laws kidney transplant.
Sunday was a slow day, I did some homework and just vegged in my chair most of the day. Still tired and worn out.
Hopefully this week will be a bit slower pace for me, as last week was a blur most of the time.
I have pictures to share and will get them up as soon as I can.
I hope everyone had a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Busy with a Capitol B
My head is swimming with things that I need to do. I finally had to make a list so I wouldn't forget anything and so I could put it in prospective that although I'm busy life is good.
It goes something like this.
Today Monday: write two papers for school and work on gifts for the fundraiser craft bazaar.
Tuesday: go to school and turn in my work and get new homework for next week.
Wednesday: Make the last set of goodies for the fundraiser and Apple pie and Pumpkin cheese cake for Thanksgiving. Then go around and pick up the other goodies and gifts people made to help with the fundraiser.
Thursday Thanksgiving: cook up a storm and have 17 people in my little house to eat and give Thanks.
Friday: get up early pack the car, go get my friend that is helping me with the bazaar, and go set up and be ready for sales at 10 am. Stay there until 5 come home.
Saturday back at the bazaar 10 till 5. Clean up and come home.
Oh and somewhere in between all of this I need to do homework to, that will be due next week.
Yikesssssssss wish I had some calgon!

Oh Lord! Please Pray
Today my friends Kelly and Willow got the call while they were out that their house was on fire. Well it totally burnt down and it is a total loss. The only things they have left is the clothes on their backs and whatever was in their cars. Please pray for them, as now they have no home and the only clothes they have is what they left in this morning. They have 3 kids, 6, 5 and 2.
So please keep them in your prayers.
Thank you
So please keep them in your prayers.
Thank you

Wholy Cow Batman... Robyn Doesn't like it!
I woke up this morning to it being 17 below at my house. I Love living in Alaska but man when it gets below 0 I have a problem with that! That's when I say I wish it would warm up and snow....LOL So I had to go out and plug in the car so it would be nice to me and start. Then when I finally did jump in my car to take my son to the bus stop, it felt like the heat wasn't even on. His teeth chattered and though those chattering teeth he said "Mom I don't think your heat is gonna warm it in here today" I told him " if you would wear a coat and not just a hoodie to look cool you would be warmer". His reply "WHATEVER" We live in an area where I have to drive him to the bus every morning because it does not come back in our neighborhood. I have to take him the 3 miles to the HWY to get on the bus.
So I'm hoping it warms up and snows or just plain old warms up.

Wordfull Wednesday with Pictures
Chad just had to put a t-shirt on Rikki and have her pose for him. She is such a good girl!
This is what her house looks like after our first snow.
My finished project for sign class due Thursday!
Yep this is me with all my books I have won over at Alexis Blog! You might just wanna check her blog out it's fun filled!
Ramble On!
I'm finding myself a bit on the lonely side with my friend moving away. Even when I was doing homework she would call and take my mind off of it for a few. Now it's just me doing my work with no one giving me that break.
I almost have my major project done for my sign class and I have been working long and hard on that. It's a presentation board about Helen Keller. Once I'm finished I will try and get pictures to share with you on what it looks like. I must say I think it will be "A" material........LOL
We got our first snow fall a couple days ago, if you really want to call it that. Less than an inch, but just enough to make the side roads a bit slick.
I have gotten 3 books now from blog giveaways over at Alexis blog. I'm happy every time the UPS man pulls up in my driveway. I know it will be the next book I have won. So far I have won and received A Hint of Wicked, How to tame a modern Rouge, and Julie and Julia. I'm looking forward to getting my school work all done so I can read something besides a text book. Geesh!
In 32 days my son and I will be flying off to Portland for the holidays and we are very excited! I can't wait to see family and friends. Oh and those 2 grand babies I have never met yet. My son is taking his lap top so hopefully I will be able to sneak in a few times to see how everyone is doing and give you an update. I know we will be busy but I want to share our trip with you. I just might get to meet a blogger friend while I'm there too. I pray that it works out and we get to meet in person.
I've started thinking about winter comfort foods for dinners now. Share with me what your winter comfort food might be. I'm always looking for new idea's. But I must admit that a good pot of chili and cornbread works for me.
Well off to do more homework, but what's new!

Wow It's Tuesday Again
Hmm first off I feel like my blog has gotten boring and I'm not sure what to do about that!
Last Friday my friend Sugamamma and I put on a small fundraiser of baked goods at the local coffee shop for my brother in law. We had a blast and made 185 to send off to the Transplant fund.
Saturday I made a big dinner for my friends, it was Alice's birthday and also they moved away yesterday, so it was a combo of saying Happy Birthday and goodbye. I'm going to miss her so much. We are very close and now she lives so far away :(
Sunday I took a slow day to just sit and collect my thoughts. Even got in a little nap. That felt good!
Yesterday I went out to the airport to say my goodbyes. I get really attached to my friends and that was a really hard goodbye! Then I ran off to the school to do homework, got my essay all finished up. Read some of my book and then took a make-up test in sign language. Running full speed ahead I went to the bank and then the grocery store for a few items. Oh then picked up my son from school.
Today I have classes, then I run from the school to pick up my son from school and take him to the dentist. Hubby has the day off so I have elected him to get the turkey in the oven because tonight we are having a big turkey dinner. Ya know practice for Thanksgiving coming up...LOL
I have a couple major projects due in the month of November for my classes and I really need to get going on those. Plus to top that off I have a booth at the craft bazaar the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving that I'm trying to organize as a fundraiser for my Brother in laws kidney transplant. Baked goods and gifts, I have people baking and making for that, and man talk about work!
This term of school will be over December 10th and then 3 days later my son and I will be off to Portland for 2 weeks, visiting family and friends.
I'm feeling the crunch of it all and feel like I have lost my humor along the way somewhere. If someone finds my humor could you please return to back to me quickly!
The weather here has turned cold we are in the single digits at night and the mid 20's in the daytime. I know snow must be just around the corner. That's okay snow is always welcome in my book, it has to be that's one of the reasons I live in Alaska!

I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Since us moms are always behind the camera, this gives us a chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. Fun challenge, right? You can join too! Just jump in right now and let me know you're playing along! Carin has added a Mr. Linky on Thursdays...so that we can check out each others pictures.
Almost to Busy For Words
This past 5 days between homework and house responsibilities I have been slammed!
Today is my baking day for the Fundraiser my friend and I are putting on for my Brother in laws kidney transplant. It will be Friday for 4 hours at the local coffee shop. I made rice krispie bars and peanut butter cup cookies. She is making some other goodies to go along with what I have made. This is just a taste of what we are doing for the big Bazaar in November. We have 10 other ladies helping with that. Gift in a jar, baked goods and what ever anyone else wants to put on our table.
