Fire and Smoke

I awoke this morning to the smell of something burning, looked outside and man the sun is a ball of red and I mean it looks like a flaming red ball in the sky. It smells so awful here it makes me sick to my stomach! We have 70 fires burning in the state of Alaska right now, the winds are bringing the smoke our direction. It looks like we are fogged in with smoke. Not that there is much wind down low but it must be coming our way up high. Here is a new paper article on the fires and what is happening. http://www.adn.com/news/environment/fire/story/858338.html
Please pray for all these firefighters in doing their job as safe as they can and that they get some of these fires out as quick as they can.
I tried to take some pictures of the red ball in the sky and for some reason my camera does not want to pick up the intensity of it.

Oh I hope they get those under control soon. I know how bad it can get. My mom had a ton of fires around her place in 2001 and it was so hard to breath. Praying for the safety of the firefighters.

Oh, I know exactly what that is like! We get a lot of fires in FL too. Once we were on the roof of our home and could see fire for miles! Crazy! and scary!! Praying for you!

Waking up to the smell of smoke would be a nightmare...plus a scary sight I imagine to see the sun that way...reminds me of the Nicholas Cage movie "Knowing"...two of my young teenage grandsons were jr. fire cadets at our local fire dept...mostly dealing with brush and structure fires.
Take care Robyn!
