Random Tuesday Thoughts

The chiropractor I have been seeing uses the activator method, and that is helping me in a huge way. By the x-rays taken she says that my spine is straight up and down and has no natural curve. She is not sure why it is like this but hopes to help me get my curve back. For more info on this method you can see at www.activator.com. I have been going to her 3 days a week now and I can tell a difference.

I can only work 4 hours a day right now and I took that note to my boss and he said he doesn't have any 4 hour shifts for me. So I have been off work now for a little over a week. Mind you I have been loyal to them and I know other ladies who only work 4 hours. So while I'm off I have been looking for another job, maybe one that won't be so hard on my back.

Last Thursday I went on a little road trip with my Daughter Lora to Homer, we had a wonderful time. Shopped the little shops and ended our evening in a wonderful restaurant called Cafe Cups. We had the best dinner I think I have ever had since I moved to Alaska 8 years ago. Our appetizer was a seafood pot, which had, steamer clams, muscles, crab, scallops, shrimp, oysters, halibut and salmon. Then my dinner was a fettuccine with steamer clams, scallops and shrimp in it, the sauce was a bleu cheese and apple mix. Oh Yum!

While I was off with Lora my hubby went dip netting with a couple friends and brought home 42 sockeye salmon, which they cleaned and shared between the 2 of them. So Friday we canned 20 pints and 15 half pints, to put up for winter, and then Saturday Hubby smoked the rest in the smoker. Ahhhhhhhhh Alaskan life!

Saturday my Son and I went to the progress day's parade and met my Daughter Rachel and Granddaughter there, great parade and then went to the river front park for a Reindeer hot dog, music and to look at the local people wares they were selling.

Today we are suppose to grab our fishing poles and head to the river for some fishing, hopefully we all get some action as I would like to do a bit more canning. Between Hubby, son and I we can come home with 9 more fish, if they jump on our hooks.

Yikes I can't believe that there is only 27 days left of our summer vacation and school starts. I better start thinking about school clothes for the kid!

Okay I'm done rambling now so Be sure to go visit the Queen of RTT ~~~ the one and only Keely!!! She's always got something interesting going on at her place. Sign up with Mr. Linky while you're there and give RTT a whirl!

I have used that method as well, but I now just use it on my neck, and I use a table for the rest of my adjustments. No fun when your back hurts...sorry for your pain, and sorry about you job situation...hopefully something turns up soon.

Thanks for entering the giveaway...the salmon exchange almost did me in. ;o)

Ah, brings back good memories of my summer in Alaska! I never fished for salmon but was in several places where a fish wheel was operating. I cannot even eat salmon down here anymore....there's just nothing like a King out of the Copper!
