Oh So Random

Well I feel like I have hardly had time to blog these days, with working so many hours and my family demands. I always say that summer takes over and winter things will slow down, but then school starts and I get loaded with school work. Now this winter I'm going to try and keep my job and go to school so we shall see just how much time I will have.

The days have been really nice, but I haven't had time to get that fishing pole in the water as much as I would like.

In 10 days we are having visitors here from Arizona, and I'm looking forward to their arrival. They planned a trip up here and we will get to spend some time with them as they tour the Peninsula. We are planning a huge family BBQ while they are here, and that will be a great day and lots of picture taking.

It's hard for me to believe that tomorrow is July 1st already! It seems that the days just fly by.

We are planning a trip to the big city (Anchorage) for school clothes shopping, and I'm looking forward to the get away, as we will stay in a hotel and play, swimming, hot tub the works.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their summer so far.

Friday Soot-out~~~ Colors of the Rainbow

Okay this week has been a bit of a challenge for me since it has been mostly raining. To bad this rain has not brought true rainbows to shoot. Today my son and I went around and got these shots before heading to a movie.

The park is always a bunch of fun and the Colors of the equipment reminds me of the rainbow.

A house in the center of town painted a purple most do not enjoy but the owners.......LOL

This place is what people in town call the witch store. I know nothing about it or what's in there other than the bright colors it is painted on the outside.

To see more great shoot outs go here to see the list and take some time and enjoy others shoot outs!

20 of 52

I'm participating in a year long challenge, created by Carin. The goal is to be in one picture a week, for 52 weeks. Since us moms are always behind the camera, this gives us a chance to get out in front and be in the pictures with our family. Fun challenge, right? You can join too! Just jump in right now and let me know you're playing along! Carin has added a Mr. Linky on Thursdays...so that we can check out each others pictures.
Quick I need a picture for the challenge! So this is what we just came up with..........LOL

Meet My New Grandbaby

Willow Nora, born Monday June 22nd at 8:06 am. She is 8 pounds 20 and a 1/2 inches long. Just a perfect little girl!
I'm one proud Grandma and I sure wish there weren't so many miles between us. I just want to cuddle her up and kiss those little cheeks!

Wordless Wednesday ~~ Too Cute!

It's Tuesday And I'll Go Random

First off I want everyone to know I'm a Grandma again. My Daughter Vera had her second baby yesterday. It's a girl. Her name is Willow Nora, she was born at 8:06 am. Perfect and weighs 8 pounds even and 20 and a half inches long. I have not gotten any pictures yet as she lives in Washington State. So hang in there with me until some one sends me pictures of my beautiful Granddaughter.

My work schedule changed and now I'm working more hours and only have 2 days off instead of 3, that will take some adjustment.

It has been raining for 3 days here and I really want it to stop for my days off, Wednesday, Thursday, so I can cruise along and get my shoot out photo's done.

I have a book I want to read but finding time is another story! It might have to wait until this winter when it's to cold to go out.

I'm hungry for macaroni salad and will make some tomorrow, since I will have time to cook then.

It's really amazing how much a persons house can suffer when you work lots of hours, come home tired and go to work the next day. Then on your days off all you want to do is chill and do a shoot out..........LOL

Okay off to get ready for work, everyone have a great day!

~~~~Shoot-Out~~~~
Okay this Friday's shoot out was suppose to be anything Metal, but I have been just a little busy with all action here so I thought I would use my pictures from what I have been doing this week.
Here in Alaska we have a couple weeks in June where you can go to the beach and do set netting for salmon. Our friends have a camp site and have been netting everyday since Monday.
These people are pulling in their net in hopes of it being full of Salmon.
Just a few campers lodged on the beach taking care of their nets and fish.
All the round balls are floats on the nets holding them in place along with net anchors.
Ahhhhhh just about ready to start cleaning some of our fish from the net.
One almost done and many more to go.
Pretty fillets of Sockeye Salmon, and they add up quickly!
First rack all brine up getting ready for the smoker!
So far we have gotten 18 fish and they are all taken care of. Not sure how many more we will get, but the limit for our household is 45. That's 25 for head of the household and 10 per person after that.
Yippi Skippi I Love living in Alaska!
Wordless Wednesday
Random Tuesday
It seems as if my blog has suffered some down time with me being busy and not feeling well. I think next week might be a little better.
I'm missing Reggie's Girl, not sure what is happening with that chick but hope everything is alright and she returns to blog land soon.
Work has been busy and today is finally my Friday and I'm looking forward to 5 pm today.
Seems as if nothing new has been going on, and that makes it hard for me to have something new to post about.
I really like reading about every ones fun summer they are having, seems mine has not started yet, but I know something exciting will happen soon, whether it be fishing or a road trip or something.
A Trip To The Doctor And A New Color
Thursday I went over to my friends house and she dyed my hair this color. I picked it out and it looked so pretty on the box. Well needlessly to say my hair did not turn out that same color. This is the darkest my hair has ever been in my life. I like it but it will take some getting use to. By the time I was done getting my hair colored I could hardly move my back hurt so bad.
So yesterday I go to the doctor to find out why my lower back hurt like crazy. I though it was out of place and needed adjusting. Come to find out I have a bad UTI and that is what is making my back hurt. So the kind man gave me 3 prescriptions and sent me on my way. I got them filled and came home and went to bed for the day. I am feeling a bit better today and have to go to work. I'm hoping I can make it through my day, of running around serving food to everyone who walks in.
Hubby took this picture right when I got home from the doc, so sorry for the pained look on my face.....LOL
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Until next time.........................................
Friday Shoot out~~~~~~M~~~~~~~
This week Sara Lulu has challanged us with anything that starts with the letter "M" in honor of her new grandchild. I had today all planned out and was going to go around and take some interesting pictures after visiting a Friend. Well while I was there my back started acting up and before I knew it my son was driving me straight home. Needlessly to say all my shoot out pictures are goodies I found on my computer already.
These Moose pictures were taken a couple winters ago right from my front door.
This Moose is made of metal and stands in front of the college I attend.
This is of the Mountains on the way to Anchorage.
This one here I did not take I believe that Dennis Anderson snapped this shot, it's of Mt. Redoubt when she was acting all crazy and wanting to erupt.
Last but not least this is of me and my bestest friend Martina, when we went to Homer this year.
Okay now if you really would like to join our gang or just see some more amazing pictures check out Here. There is a list of members on the side bar and some great tips on what to do.
Went fishing today at the Kenai River, didn't catch anything but some sun! My son has been gone all day and it's hard to catch a picture with the teen man these days and he's the only one left at home.
