Friday Shoot-out~~~Architecture

Time for Friday shoot-outs. I just joined a gang yes a gang! It's called Friday shoot outs. Every week a lovely person picks a topic and we have to go around town and get pictures of the topic. This is my first one and it was great fun going and taking all these pictures.

This is the ice cream drive through on the way to town, it is up for sale if anyone wants to come on up and sit in an ice cream cone all day. waiting for someone to come buy your cones...LOL

This is in the same lot as the ice cream shack, and it is a log gift store, pretty huh!

This one is beside Uncle Lloyd's and they also have log carved gifts for sale also.

Our lovely Forest center, is about a mile from town and they do a great job keeping track of our fires we have in the summer, and that helicopter is for dipping out lake water for any fire that have a hard time containing.

This I'm not really sure what happened to it. Looks old and half sunken in to me, but I thought it would be neat to add it in.

This is Veronica's Restaurant, very yummy coffee, tea, sandwiches, soup and salads. Hubby and I ate here doing this shoot out.

Our ever so famous movie theater, yes this is where you can see all the newest flix!

Yum Yum and More yum, our bakery that sits right in the middle of town. I always shield my eyes when driving by or I would be hooked on donuts!

Ah yes the fishing tackle store, this is where we get our goods to go catch the salmon, in the world famous Kenai River! The place is jumping busy in the summer!

Hmm never knew about this place but went by it today and made hubby stop the car, oddly enough this place is called The Burger Bus! Maybe I will have to go and try it sometime, looks a little creepy to me to go eat in a bus!

I found this Russian Church to be very beautiful. I should have written down the name of it because I can't remember now. Sorry :-(

This is another church, this one is Trinity Christian Center. I have attended here a few times. My friend goes to this church and it is also where she got married. I was her maid of honor.

This tiny church sits on the same property as Trinity, I love the smallness of it and it always catches my eye when going by.

The inside of the tiny church, I would love to have a little service in there. That would be so cool.

This is on the wall in the tiny church and I sure would love to have this in my house, well one just like it.

Okay this is the end of my tour of Architecture in and around town. I can't wait to see what next Friday's shoot out brinngs !

Mmmm Huh I Rock Oh Yeah ROCK

Today has been a long day. I got up at 4:45 as usual, got the kid out the door to the bus and came home and started doing homework. I worked hard all day and I can Proudly say I am totally finished with my English. No more all done, waiting for a final grade now!!! Yes I rock!!!
Now tomorrow morning I will study one last time for my math test and go off to school and take the last test! When finished with my test I will go return my books for a lil spending money and wait for my final grade in that class also. Yes I rock!!
Then on Thursday my hubby and I are going to lunch and I will do my shoot out!!
I'm so excited!
Tomorrow at 2:30 my time I will be on summer vacation!! Yes that means schools out for summer!! I will have FREE TIME!!!!!

This Friday won't be my first feature.

I have not made some precious friends here in blog land that totally touch my heart, and make my heart sing with happiness.

I'm not jumping for joy that this week is my last week of school, end of the term!

I am so not a bit nervous about my last math test on Wednesday.

I so do not want to go to Portland this summer and visit friends and family. I so don't wanna go that I pray for it constantly.

I don't have plans for my new shoot out pictures that I won't post on here, Friday!

I'm not telling everyone to have a beautifully Blessed week this week.

Okay so one day I go to math class and I see these cool looking clips in my math teachers hair. They look simply amazing in her hair and I asked her where she got them in this small town. She replied"the Internet". So being the gotta have it kind of gal ,I hunt them down at EzCombs, I'm all excited, it's late at night, so I get on the order form and score me some. Well I must have been way to tired to be ordering stuff like this because I ended up with 2 of the same order.

The Real Definition of Words When Used By Women


Fine - I am right. This argument is over. You need to shut up.

That's Okay - One of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. "That's okay" means she wants to think hard and long before deciding when and how you'll pay for your mistake.

Nothing - The calm before the storm. This means "Something" and you better be on your toes. Note: Arguments that start with "Nothing" usually end with "Fine" (See #1).

Five Minutes - If getting dress, this means half an hour. (Don't be mad about this. It's the same definition for you when it's your turn to do some chores around the house.

Thanks - A woman is thanking you. Do not question this or faint. Just say, "You're welcome," and let it go.

Loud Sigh - Not actually a word but rather a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. It means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is standing here wasting her time arguing with you about "Nothing." (See #3)

Ok Since I have not had any time to spend with my camera this week due to tests, studying and finals at school. I decided to share a blast from the past. Yep this is me 20 years ago..... this was taken at the Troutdale park in Oregon, summer of 1989!

It's not me who had a hard math test on Wednesday, and hoping that I passed it, waiting patiently to find out!

It is not me who worked all weekend on my English assignment, finally getting it all done and turned in.

Yep not me who had our first cook out, outside and hoping I wasn't making the bears come my way from hibernation following their nose to my BBQ.

Oh no not we who had PMS so bad that I couldn't stand myself.

It's so not me who is counting down my days left at school. 7 English assignments, 5 math classes and 1 more test but who's counting.........LOL

Sharing A Road Trip

Thursday My Hubby and I had to make a road trip to Anchorage, which is 145 miles one way from home. He needed parts for his tools for work and can't get them around here. So he had to make a parts run. I didn't have to go but wanted to get away and also wanted a lunch out of the deal. So I though I would share a bit of our trip with you.


This was the only place I could get him to stop along the way. This is me, with shades on since the sun was shining in my face...........LOL

This sign is a little hard to read but it says Avalanche Area Next 2 miles Do Not stop. Well who reads anyway.............LOL

The rest of these pictures are out the car window going anywhere from 55 to 65 depending on the speed limit at the time.

Every inch of this drive was so beautiful. I couldn't take pictures fast enough, or was it that we were going to fast to get good shots.

This picture here is all that's left of a house and truck, it got sucked up in the 1964 earthquake!

Mountains surround the whole drive and I am always in complete awe every time we go.

Life is a highway and that we were on yesterday!

Friday Funnies

One day, shortly after the birth of their first baby, the mother had to go out to run some errands. The proud papa stayed home to watch his new son.

Soon after the mother left, the baby started to cry. The father did everything he could think of doing, but the baby wouldn't stop crying. Finally, dad got so worried that he decided to take the infant to the doctor.

After a brief examination the doctor undid the diaper and found that it was quite full.
"Here's the problem," he said, "He needs to be changed!"

The father was very perplexed, "Impossible, the diaper package says it's good for up to 10 pounds!"

Struggling with Myself

I have been struggling with myself for sometime now. I have been eating way to much and not the right kinds of foods. Ya see I'm a stress eater and my schooling, mostly math has been a big stress factor in my life. I stop on the way to school and grab something fast and eat it on the way to school. Not only that I get a candy or something sweet to go along with it. I feel shame when I do this, and it feels uncontrollable, I need to learn self control, as I'm feeling like my weight is spinning out of control quickly. I feel like one of those closet eaters that hide to get satisfied.
I don't like to look at myself in the mirror, and when I do it almost makes me cry. I feel like I have screwed up my body and don't really like my husband to even touch me. He does and I feel embarrassed that I'm not that woman he married. Yes I do know time changes us all, and age does a little trick to us. But dang!
Then Sunday with the kids here we got on the subject of weight for some reason, and hubby proudly says he's the lightest one in the house. He didn't mean it in a slam to me in anyway, but damn that stung!!!!
I have prayed on this matter and asked for help, but how can God help you if you can't control yourself. I feel like a food attic, I weigh more than I have ever in my life, even being 9 month pregnant.

Not Me Monday

I was not me who threw a complete stomping fit last week over not understanding my math. Ya know the Exponential Logarithmic Functions.

It is not me that has to make some choices about my eating habits, stress eating has over come me.

It was not me or my Daughter that went to our first seder supper at the church friday night and was totally Blessed by it.

It is not me counting down the days until summer vacation. 22 days, but then who's counting...LOL

It is not me that is enjoying the extra daylight up here in Alaska 14 hours and 29 minutes and gaining every day.

I really want to do a blog make over. I'm not sure what I want and how to do all the steps. Is there a person that would do it for you and if so how much $$ does it cost? Do they have to have all access to your blog, like pass words etc. I'm so confused, but then again it is late night......Ha

Oh my I Look cross! This was taken April 8th 09 after I got home from school. I asked Hubby to take a picture of me. When I got it up on the computer I thought UGH! But was to tired and lazy to go back outside for a better one. This will have to do for this week......LOL

Grandma Sadness

My Daughter Rach was with a man for a little over 2 years. He has 3 kiddo's and she has the 1. I have always been excepting of his kids and called them my own Grandchildren. They had plans of getting married, and this touched my heart that she finally found someone that she truly loved and have a family like she has always wanted. Well things started going bad, I won't go into all the details, but they had a split and it is over totally over with no hope of getting back together. So now this poor Grandma is down 3 grand kids. It hurts my heart that I can not see his kids(he says NO) . I can understand to some degree. But I whole hearted love them.
I hope that they will remember me in a good way, which I'm sure they will beings that they were 9, 7, and 5. I just don't know what else to do, but grieve for them and move on, I guess!

Not me Monday

I did not accomplish my 100th post and start a giveaway on Friday! I do not want people to enter to win. I do not love the gifts I chose for it. I really don't want to eat that big chocolate bar!

I did not enter all of Mimi's giveaways and win a Starbucks card! I will not totally enjoy that to it's fullest! It doesn't make me feel so cool that I won, since I never win anything. Now I can't say that I never win!

I don't have some serious stuff to post about on my blog, stuff deep in my heart that hurts or is bothering me. I won't wait until my giveaway is over!

I didn't go to my daughter's house on Saturday for a beautiful dinner and take Scooter 2 with me so she could play with her cousins. I didn't take pictures of them being silly!

Stuck on a Website

I found this totally cool web site what makes all kinds of t-shirts, hoodies and long sleeved t-shirts. I have been looking at pages and page of them, and see many that I think I need. I'm sure I will be getting a couple before to long. As I look I can think of someone that would love that style and saying. I could really go crazy over at Cafe Press and just drain that pocket book! All you have to do is change the Alaska part on the web address to your state and take a gander of the cool T's they have for your State.
