These are the pictures I promised of my Son and his girlfriend at their first homecoming dance Saturday night. This first picture is when they met in the parking lot of the school and were exchanging flowers.

Catchin Up Randomly
They announced the yearly Alaska resident checks a few days ago.Yes we get a check yearly for living here. This confirms my Christmas plans that I have been dreaming up, and so badly wanting to do. My son and I are going to Portland for Christmas this year. We will be staying for 2 weeks, and spending Christmas with my Mom and step Dad. My Mom has been sick off and on for 8 years with cancer, and we have not had a Christmas together for 9 years.I'm so excited to be able to go and spend time with her, and I get to see friends that I haven't seen in years. Plus I have come in contact with a couple high school friends that I will also get to catch up with after all these years.
My bloggy friend over at Running away? I'll help you pack! has a bunch of really cool books for giveaway. You should check them out.
My son and his girlfriend went to their very first homecoming dance Saturday night. They were so cute together and had a wonderful time. I'm so proud of them both. I will share pictures soon.
I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that my friend Alice is moving away very soon. We are very close and do a lot together, anything from grocery shopping, having lunch, and just chillin with a soda talking about life. I'm really going to miss her when she moves!
We have already had a few nights of frost outside and I know it's just a matter of time before I wake up to it being white out there. I Love winter and snow, the only thing that I don't like about it is how slick the roads and hwy get. I just have to go slower and plan to take the extra time to get where I'm going.
I thought today was going to be a day of relaxing with my PJ's on all day but nope I have to do errands and shopping. I long for just one day of nothing to do.....LOL Maybe next week I can get a day like that.
Okay there you have it in a nutshell!
Have a Blessed week!

This is my friend Alice and I, she is one of my best friends. We met 6 years ago and she has been a great faithful friend to me. I just recently found out that she is moving away and my heart is broken. I know we will stay in contact, but it won't be the same as having lunch together or running our errands together.

Wiped Out
Today has been the longest day. First off I had to get up and get my son off to school. Then I came back home and did my sign language report. Next was off to the dentist with my hubby, he had to have a tooth pulled. Then home and made 3 important phone calls. Got on the computer and did my sons doctor appt check in paper work electronically. The did my English essay and got that all done. Worked on my brother in laws fundraiser, which by the way is going awesome, so far I have raised 900.00 for him. Plus now I have fishing guides working with me. Anyone who donates 500 to his account not only helps my bro, and the tax write off they get a 1/2 day fishing trip with a guide, the whole boat is theirs, so they can bring along who ever they want to fill the boat.
Next I have to go grocery shopping and pick my son up while I'm in town. Then come home put all the groceries away and make dinner. I think I might just fall into bed tonight almost asleep the minute my head hits the pillow.

Friday Photo Flashback
Alicia from More than words hosts the Friday Flashback photo's. It's a fun way to post pre-digital photos and share with others. She has a Mrs. Linky here to sign up and join the fun.
I found this picture of me going through old photo's. I'm guessing by the date on the back I was 4 months old. All that was on the back was the year 1965. So since I was born in August of 65, I'm guessing it was late in that year this photo was taken. I know I'm dating myself....LOL

Random is Where I'm Going
I really enjoyed looking at pictures for the Friday flashback. It really made me think of how young I once was. Today I have been looking through photo's to see which one might be my next target. I have a few so now I have to look at them all week and decide.
I have been working on my homework and still have a couple papers to write before class on Tuesday. Monday night my daughter will come over and we will do some work together. Since she will be here I will make dinner for all of us. She is very excited to have a Mommy home cooked meal. I think while she is here I will have hubby take a couple pictures of us for my Thursday Mom's in pictures post.
The leaves on the trees keep getting more fall colors in them, and it is just breath taking to drive along with all the colors. Our daylight is shrinking and we are down to 11 hours now. It keeps going down and the lowest point is a little over 5 hours. Unlike summer at the height of daylight it is just a little over 19 hours. I feel the air is different, and it won't be to much longer before we see our first snow.
My son(15) has a cute Lil girlfriend and she came over Friday night after school for dinner and movies. She is such a good girl, with great manners. I have met her parents and really like them, so I let him go to her house on Saturday. The 26th is Homecoming at school and they are going together. Waaaaa Not so sure this Mommy is ready for all this. Not that I haven't been through it 4 times before, I guess it's just the fact that he is my baby.
Okay enough blah blah blah!
Have a beautiful week!

Random Thoughts and a Giveaway
I recently started checking out a blog by Stacy and enjoy her blog and reading her life story. Well she is having and awesome giveaway for her one year Blogoversary. You can check it out and enter here. Even if you don't enter her giveaway take time to read some of her story.
While doing my homework this weekend my printer took a dive and I had to go buy a new one yesterday. I got the kind that does everything but dishes...LOL So now I have to dig out some old photo's and try the Flashback photo day, but for the life of me I can't remember which day people post those. Any help with that?
I still have homework to be done, but I might need to take a nappy before I get started. I stayed up to late last night watching part of the 5th season of House. Any one like that show? I find in quiet interesting and some humor in it.
Our days have been very seasonably nice for Alaska and I have been enjoying every minute of it. Only to wake this morning to rain, I guess it's better than snow for now.
I have been making some Christmas plans, exciting and a bit early I know but this might be a biggy and I really can't say just yet what they might be, but if I can pull this one off it will be exciting and a Christmas to remember not that every Christmas is special.
Hmmm I love all seasons and the food that goes along with them, I wonder what your favorite winter comfort food is? I will have to say mine is a good pot of homemade chili and cornbread.
Okay enough random now go check out that cool giveaway and have a Blessed week.

Some Cabbage And An Oink Oink
A couple days ago we went to a friends house to help harvest some of this garden. Upon arrival his piggy greeted us with a couple snorts.....LOL I couldn't help but snap off a couple shots of the pig himself.
The cabbages were looking good and I managed to get one of these fine looking ones for homemade cabbage rolls. With one stipulation, I invite the grower over for dinner. Not problem, it will be a German dinner night Tuesday night my house.

This was just taken a few minutes ago. I needed a picture so I made my son come outside for a quick one and Rikki thought she needed to join in.
