They announced the yearly Alaska resident checks a few days ago.Yes we get a check yearly for living here. This confirms my Christmas plans that I have been dreaming up, and so badly wanting to do. My son and I are going to Portland for Christmas this year. We will be staying for 2 weeks, and spending Christmas with my Mom and step Dad. My Mom has been sick off and on for 8 years with cancer, and we have not had a Christmas together for 9 years.I'm so excited to be able to go and spend time with her, and I get to see friends that I haven't seen in years. Plus I have come in contact with a couple high school friends that I will also get to catch up with after all these years.
My bloggy friend over at Running away? I'll help you pack! has a bunch of really cool books for giveaway. You should check them out.
My son and his girlfriend went to their very first homecoming dance Saturday night. They were so cute together and had a wonderful time. I'm so proud of them both. I will share pictures soon.
I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that my friend Alice is moving away very soon. We are very close and do a lot together, anything from grocery shopping, having lunch, and just chillin with a soda talking about life. I'm really going to miss her when she moves!
We have already had a few nights of frost outside and I know it's just a matter of time before I wake up to it being white out there. I Love winter and snow, the only thing that I don't like about it is how slick the roads and hwy get. I just have to go slower and plan to take the extra time to get where I'm going.
I thought today was going to be a day of relaxing with my PJ's on all day but nope I have to do errands and shopping. I long for just one day of nothing to do.....LOL Maybe next week I can get a day like that.
Okay there you have it in a nutshell!
Have a Blessed week!
